With Italian shipyards busier than ever, prospective buyers will struggle to secure a new build project with a delivery date before next summer. The 34.16m Project Violin, however, is nearing completion and will be ready to go cruising from June this year. Listed for sale with Camper & Nicholsons, this Sanlorenzo SX112 offers a rare opportunity to acquire a pedigree new build without lengthy delivery times.

Scheduled for delivery in June 2023, Project Violin has unexpectedly come onto the market at a time when Italian new build slots in this size range are hard to come by. The 34.16m SX112 model, therefore, represents an exciting opportunity for a buyer to acquire a brand-new Sanlorenzo yacht and enjoy her for the whole of this summer. 

The flagship of Sanlorenzo’s successful SX range, the SX112 expands on the underlying design philosophy: to connect with the sea and make the most of an on-the-water lifestyle. This starts with the open-stern concept, featuring fold-out platforms on both sides that reveal an expansive beach club. “The beach club is connected to the dining area just above on the main aft deck, creating a very ergonomic space at anchor,” explains Thomas O’Nial, sales manager at Camper & Nicholsons. “The idea is that you’re constantly in and out of the water.”

While the open-stern concept is common to all the SX112 units, Project Violin has been upgraded to another level. “Forward of the beach club is a gym and sauna with incredible views,” adds Thomas. “The window of the sauna looks straight out onto the sea, which is a special detail I haven’t seen on a yacht before.”

In fact, every aspect on board Project Violin has been built to an incredibly high specification. “It’s about double the options budget than on a typical yacht of this size,” l Thomas emphasises. “Every possible element that could be upgraded has been, including the AV systems, navigation and communications equipment, and commercial compliance.”

Project Violin’s interiors are adorned with top-of-the-range furniture and materials and are characterised by an understated elegance and contemporary Italian design. Featuring neutral tones, wooden finishes, and luxurious marbles throughout, her interiors were curated to appeal to a wide range of potential clients on the charter market.

The layout of the accommodation also stands out from many of the other SX112 models, with the enhanced capacity to sleep up to 10 guests across five cabins. The master cabin is located on the main deck forward and boasts panoramic views. A further four guest cabins are located on the lower deck, comprising three VIPs and one twin convertible into a lounge, all en-suite.

With Italian shipyards busier than ever, Project Violin is a rare opportunity to purchase a new build yacht considering the earliest delivery dates in this size range are over two summer seasons away. “Italian shipyards have had a tremendously successful run in the last couple of years, especially Sanlorenzo and its close competitor Benetti,” advises Thomas. “As a result, there’s extremely limited availability for similar sized models. Sanlorenzo’s next SX112 available is in the middle of summer 2024 and the next SD118 available is June 2026. Benetti’s equivalent, the Oasis 34, is not available until middle of summer 2025.”
